This morning I sat by the door to put my shoes on and noticed Junior sitting on my gym bag. I get up to grab my bag and he goes and lies down on his bed knowing I am leaving for work. After a long 11 hour day when I get home I hear him bark by the door as I am opening it.
I am exhausted and I look at him, he has his new toy in his mouth and excitement in his eyes wanting me to catch him. I play hide and seek until he gets tired and lies upside down for me to rub his belly. His life revolves around food, destroying toilet papers, walking behind me where ever I go hoping I would turn around he can run and I will try catching him, barking at the wind, car rides and playing with other spitz.
If I am ever sad he sits next to me and puts his tiny paws on my hands and his head on my lap. He stares at me asking me to rescue him when my partner annoys him. He dislikes being brushed but sits through it as he gets rewarded with treats once it is over.
There are days when he must get disappointed that I don’t play as much as I do on other days regardless, his day starts with sitting on my bag hoping I won’t leave and greeting me with a toy in his mouth hoping I will play with him when I get home.
I am hoping to have as much patience as he has. One day I will get there.
